Initial Phone Consultation
To schedule your free 15-minute phone consultation, please send me an email or call me at 212-210-6372.
The purpose of the phone consultation is for me to learn a bit about what you are looking for from therapy. I will also answer any questions you may have, and we will discuss fees and scheduling.
At the end of the phone consultation, I will provide recommendations for next steps. If we mutually agree that it is a good fit, we will schedule an initial assessment session.
Prior to your first Appointment
I will send you a registration packet via our secure online system, SimplePractice. You will also use this system to sign in for your video appointments.
The registration packet includes the intake questionnaires and consent forms. I recommend completing these as early as possible so that I have sufficient time to review them in advance of our meeting.
Initial Assessment Session
The initial assessment is scheduled for one hour. I will aim to learn more about your history, current concerns, and goals for treatment. I will then share my impressions and recommendations. Finally, we will create a personalized treatment plan and schedule a time for regular ongoing sessions.
I view the initial assessment as a time to get to know one another and decide if we are a good fit. I encourage my patients to consider whether they feel comfortable working with me. In addition, I will aim to ensure that I’m the best therapist to help you. If not, I will help connect you with another provider in the community whose expertise is more in line with your needs.
Ongoing Sessions
Ongoing therapy sessions are 45 minutes. I typically see patients once or twice weekly. The overall duration of your treatment will depend on the nature of your presenting problems and treatment goals. However, a typical course of treatment lasts from six months to two years, with at least the first four to six months consisting of weekly treatment. I believe that it is important to continuously monitor progress toward your goals and to reevaluate treatment duration if necessary.
I prefer to set a weekly appointment time. However, if this does not work for you I will do my best to accommodate your schedule.
